”Young People’s Initiative for the Modernization of Romania”, at Săvârşin Castle
Tuesday, the 14th of January 2014, His Royal Highness Prince Radu received at Săvârşin Castle members of “Young People’s Initiative for the Modernization of Romania” organization. On this very day four years ago the organization was founded in Cluj-Napoca. Among the members who came to Săvârşin Castle were students from the Universities of Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu and Alba-Iulia. His Royal Highness Prince Radu became a Patron of the organization on the 29th of July 2010. Ever since, more generations of students became members, and successfully realised a number of european projects. The guests toured the Royal Park, the Royal Village and the Automobile Museum. During their visit, the students informed the Prince about their future projects. Iniţiativa Tinerilor pentru Modernizarea României (Young People`s Initiative for the Modernization of Romania) is a national association, formed by young people, founded on the 14th of January 2010 by students of the Faculty of European Studies of the “Babeș-Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca. The mission of the organization is to contribute to the modernization of Romania through local, regional and national initiatives of romanian students. In order to achieve their goal they develop different kind of projects, like promoting Romania abroad (the project Study in Romania), modernizing Romanian villages by using european funds ( the program Relaunching the Romanian village) and projects meant to change the perspective of the young generation by involving them in cultural and civic projects ( the project Education and democratic participation). ITMR is a non governmental and apolitical organization standing for and promoting the activity of the Royal House of Romania, acknowledging the important role this apolitical institution has in our society. |
