Crown Princess Margarita and Prince Radu visit the State of Israel
From the 29th of April to the 2nd of May 2014, Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Princess and Prince Radu of Romania will undertake a public visit to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Holon, Beersheba and Savyon. This is the first visit of the Romanian Royal Family since the creation of the State of Israel. The Crown Princess and Prince Radu answer the formal invitation addressed to them last year by members of the Israeli Parliament to visit Israel. The Crown Princess and Prince Radu will be the guests of the Parliament of Israel (Knesset) and will be received by Vice President Ruth Calderon. Their Royal Highnesses will meet with members of the Parliament representing different political parties, as well as with the Israel-Romania Friendship Group. The Crown Princess and Prince Radu will visit the Yad Vashem Memorial and lay a wreath. Yad Vashem has granted Queen Mother Helen of Romania the title of “Righteous Among the Nations”. Their Royal Highnesses will meet His Beatitude Theophilos III, Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, and will visit the Romanian Orthodox Church in Jerusalem. During the stay in Israel, Their Royal Highnesses will visit the Holy Places and the Wailing Wall. The Crown Princess and Prince Radu will be the guests of the Har-Hotzvim Technological Park, the Edith Wolsfsom Medical Centre in Holon, the Jerusalem-Romania Chamber of Commerce and of the Jewish Diaspora Museum. Their Royal Highnesses will meet with leaders of Israeli political parties as well as the representatives of the B`nai B`rith. During the stay in Israel, His Royal Highness Prince Radu will give two lectures, one at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the other at the Tel Aviv University. |
